Honorees
In addition to providing scholarships to students and conducting outreach projects to help students achieve academic success, MMHMF seeks to carry on the spirit and legacy of the late Martha Mason Hill by giving Community Service and Education Service Awards.
Each September MMHMF hosts an awards program, honoring those who exemplify Foundation ideals. MMHMF seeks to identify and honor individuals who routinely go beyond the call of duty to make a difference in the lives of others. The Foundation is particularly interested in including the “unsung heroes” among those chosen. The MMHMF scholarship is also given to the current recipient during the program.
The Education Service Award is given to educators in the community who have continuously made significant contributions to the education, personal growth and development (social, spiritual, professional, etc.) of young people in the area.
The Community Service Award is given to individuals who have volunteered and demonstrated outstanding public/community service to the community and young people (i.e. mentoring, tutoring, youth leader/advisor, supporting youth spiritually and/or financially, etc.)
