Matoaca Middle School 6Th & 7Th Graders Go To College!

Students visited Richard Bland College of William & Mary and Virginia State University. The trips were sponsored by MMHMF with support from Ettrick Neighborhood & Business Foundation (ENBF) and ENBF VP Nancy Ross.

In the fall of 2015, the students visited Richard Bland College and Virginia State University. For many of the students, it was the first time visiting a college campus. Our fervent hope is that we have PLANTED A SEED. We hope that most if not all of the students will want to attend college and will thus DO THE WORK NECESSARY over the next seven or eight years to get there.

The tours were co-sponsored by MMHMF and the Ettrick Neighborhood and Business Foundation (ENBF) and Nancy Ross. MMHMF is grateful to Ms. Ross, ENBF Vice President, and the other members for providing major support for the foundation's outreach program. We thank Vice Principal Gayle Sutton and the Motoaca Middle School staff and faculty for their cooperation, enthusiasm and support. Special thanks also to the student volunteers and staffs of Richard Bland and Virginia State for helping to make the tours exciting and a valuable experience for these students!
