2026 Scholarship Application

Applications must be received on or before Monday, April 6, 2026

The Martha Mason Hill Memorial Scholarship was established in honor of the late Martha Mason Hill. Among her many exceptional qualities were her good will toward others and her strong belief in the value of education. The family of Mrs. Hill hopes to continue her legacy through this scholarship fund.

The Martha Mason Hill Memorial Foundation, Inc. offers up to three academic scholarships each year (one per recipient). Two $1,500 awards are designated for eligible students pursuing any course of study at an accredited 4-year institution. One $1,500 scholarship is designated for a student pursuing a degree in fine arts at an accredited 4-year institution. Each recipient will be honored with a certificate at his or her high school award ceremony and will be presented with a check at the Foundation's annual awards program in September 2026.

To apply, students must meet each of the following three criteria:

• Be an underrepresented ethnic minority high school student.
• Reside in Chesterfield County, VA.
• Attend a four-year accredited institution of higher education in the fall of 2026.

If selected, the recipient will be required to:

• Submit a letter confirming fall college enrollment to the scholarship committee before the check is awarded.
• Attend the September 2026 Foundation program for presentation of the check (or send a representative).
• Submit a letter to the Foundation by June 30 following the freshman year summarizing the student's experiences during his or her first year.

This application must be submitted along with:

1. a copy of the student's high school transcript
2. at least one recommendation.
