2019 Community Service Award Recipient

MINISTER VATER CORTEZ COLBERT JR.

Minister Vader Cortez Colbert Jr. resides in Midlothian, Virginia. He is a member of the Union Branch Baptist Church, Chesterfield, Virginia, where he is the Executive Administrative Assistant. He holds a Computer Drafting and Design degree from ITT Tech and a Master's in Divinity (MDIV) from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University, Richmond, Virginia.

Minister Colbert's involvement in church activities includes Youth Leader, Minister of Technology, Men's Ministry and the Pastor's Support Team. He also plans youth college trips that are open to the community at large, assists with feeding programs at the Hope Center in Petersburg and helps to collect shoes for Ettrick Elementary students.

Significant contributions are made by him toward the spiritual, social and educational growth of youth at Union Branch by teaching children's church on the first and second Sundays and planning educational community trips, organizing College Day and helping students to receive college scholarships. Also, he has become a part of the Chesterfield Men's Fellowship Council which has a goal to help churches start or bring Men's Ministries together.

Minister Colbert makes himself available to whoever needs his help. He is dedicated to teaching youth about God's love and that they can be anything they want to be as long as they keep God first in their lives.
